The blue DP transmitter that’s been on every orifice run since the 90s
Orifice plates are simple and cheap, and the 3051 differential transmitter is the one that reads the pressure drop reliably year after year. It handles high line pressure, gives good turndown, and the DCS does the square root for flow. New ones have better accuracy and diagnostics, but they bolt right onto the same 3-valve manifolds as the old 1151s, so turnaround swaps are easy.
| DP ranges | 0.1 inH2O to 2000 psi |
| Static pressure | up to 6092 psig |
| Turndown | up to 200:1 |
| Accuracy | ±0.04% span |
Q: Does it replace my old 1151 DP?
A: Yes – same manifold holes.
Q: Remote seals?
A: Yes – capillary systems for hot or viscous stuff.
